In the summer of the year of 2015, I laid lifeless in my 4 by 6 Apartment, crippled by depression.

My life was nowhere where I wanted it to be. I was stuck in a job that brought little meaning, my connections with people stayed just below the surface, and I would sometimes numbed my pain with external addictions like food, alcohol, or busy work.

How did I get here? Well let’s backtrack just minute.

The real story begins about 6 months prior.

After I came back to Canada from a long journey in Peru.

What was I doing there?

For three years, I was learning from the Amazon shamans the ways of spirit and the heart.

It was there, that I first got the call to bring an inspired dream to the planet.

With my heart in my hand, I marched forward to the great north and took a one-way plane ticket back to Ottawa, Canada.

At first, I was excited and committed to using my gifts to be of greater service to this earth.

I was Inspired by all the amazing things I was going to create!

To help the planet! To make a difference!

Unfortunately, I was too much of a dreamer and lacked many of the practical skills necessary for achieving any worldly success.

I had a highly developed spirit, but the way of the world seemed so foreign to me.

Who needed a plan, when you had a dream!

My lack of knowledge led to increased frustration, and on-going failures

I had the vision but “I lacked the “How”

This discomfort of constantly failing led me to dive deep into the field of personal development.

It was from here that I started to study goal setting, time management, Nero linguistics programming and solution focused coaching.

I went to business meet-ups and masterminds for entrepreneurs.

I saw that these were solid systems that provided real world results.

After applying them to my own life, I found some success as well.

But there was a problem.

I wanted to grow, and I wanted a community to support me.

But the books and events I was going to about entrepreneurship and success always seemed disconnected from the heart, and driven by the ego.

And perhaps that’s why many of my “spiritual friends” were uninterested in the benefits that these tools had to offer.  My entrepreneurship friends wanted to grow

their business and my spiritual friends wanted to breath deeper.

I was alone, in between two worlds…

This brings us back to the lifeless figure I mentioned in the beginning of this story.

Depressed, lost, wanting to make a difference, but feeling like he was all alone on the journey.

I knew their had to be a way to bridge the gap.

To bring balance

To walk this earthly plane and still be connected to Spirit.

By grace, I was shown the way from the wise indigenous elders of the great plains of North America.

After spending time with them, they began to teach me what a community can create when they are guided by spirit. I saw just how crucial and important it was to cultivate these communities to support each other become our best. Not just for our selves, but for planet as whole.

And since then, I have made it one of my missions to create these types of communities.

This is where the Vision of the Path of Heart was born. The vision of creating a personal development organization that’s mission is to create supportive communities of people that committed to making a difference.

To being of service to this earth, while providing the practical tools to make this happen.
